Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre Releases the Latest Updates on the Occupational Safety and Health Electronic Application “AL ADAA”

Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates – 22 June, 2022:  Abu Dhabi Public Health Centre (ADPHC), the region’s first dedicated centre protecting the physical, mental and social wellbeing of Abu Dhabi’s population by raising public and preventative healthcare awareness, has released an update on “AL ADAA”, an electronic application established with the aim of enhancing and unifying compliance with occupational safety and health requirements in both the private and government sector entities across Abu Dhabi.

Since its launch in 2016, the Centre registered 84% of targeted government entities in AL ADAA, and 57% of targeted private sector entities in 9 main sectors, including building & construction sector, transport sector, energy sector, culture and tourism sector, health sector, education sector, industrial sector, waste sector and food sector.

H.E. Matar Saeed Rashed Al Nuaimi, Director General at ADPHC said: “As part of our commitment to improve the quality of life for all nationals and residents, we continue to invest in the wellbeing of the community and continue to raise the standards of working conditions across all businesses operating in the emirate. AL ADAA Application falls in-line with ADPHC’s objective to improve the quality of life for all citizens by facilitating the monitoring of compliance with occupational health and safety requirements and providing a centralized database that enables us to make informed decisions and develop programs to reduce and control risks in the workplace.”

H.E continued, “The automation of occupational safety and health operations came to keep up with the Emirate’s developmental pace, and stems from its focus on the human element because of its belief that protection of workers health and safety is a national responsibility that must be carried out by all relevant authorities, in order to enable them to effectively exercise their productive role in society, away from the possibility of being exposed to injuries and diseases during work. In this regard, the Emirate of Abu Dhabi proves once again that it is a regional leader in adopting best practices to ensure safe and healthy workplaces”.
AL ADAA contributed to raising the compliance of government and private sector entities and in facilitating the reporting of occupational incidents and closing investigation reports, in addition to submission of third-party audit reports and OSH performance reports.

Registration of entities is dependent on risk assessment of entities activities in accordance with a specific criteria set by ADPHC, where high-risk entities are required to develop a full management systems for occupational health and safety to ensure hazards and risks are controlled and to protect  the health of workers. An approval certificate - valid for three years- is then issued by ADPHC to high risk entities once their internal occupational safety and health systems are approved, followed by close auditing and periodic performance reports.
AL ADAA reflects Abu Dhabi’s progressive development and stresses the Emirate’s commitment to maintaining the health and safety of its residents, further reinforcing its position as a region-wide leader in adopting best practices to ensure safe and healthy workplaces.
ADPHC further continues to improve AL ADAA application to ensure businesses are encouraged to register and a seamless experience is received.
