Abu Dhabi, 18 April 2024: Strap on your helmets for a fun-filled weekend as the inaugural FAB Cycling Festival gears up to take place from 26 to 28 April on Al Hudayriyat Island in Abu Dhabi. This groundbreaking event promises a three-day celebration of all things cycling, with a packed schedule of events, displays, demonstrations, rides, and races catering to cyclists of all ages and skill levels.

The brainchild of cycling enthusiasts and community advocates, the FAB Cycling Festival is poised to make its mark as the go-to event for cycling aficionados and novices alike. Set against the stunning backdrop of Al Hudayriyat Island, this festival is also a testament to the spirit of community, wellness, and active living. Some of the weekend’s highlights will include:

  • Spectator Events: Witness thrilling BMX trick shows, cheer on participants in an exciting criterium race, attend workshops, meet professional cyclists, and engage in informative Q&A sessions.
  • Participant Events: Experience the thrill of cycling firsthand at the FAB Community Ride, Learn to Ride Taster Sessions for the little ones, cycling masterclasses, mountain bike and e-bike taster sessions, MyWhoosh indoor racing, spin classes, corporate and school challenges, and more.
  • Family Fun: Families can enjoy a variety of activities including a kids’ cycling obstacle course, live bands and singers, rooftop yoga sessions, tree planting, delicious cuisine from food trucks, a kid’s zone, and daily raffle draws.

The FAB Cycling Festival is expected to welcome thousands of spectators and participants over three days. With its diverse range of events and activities, the festival seeks to fill a gap in the Abu Dhabi cycling calendar, providing a unique opportunity for individuals to learn, take part, and embrace a more active lifestyle.

“The FAB Cycling Festival provides a comprehensive pathway for individuals to engage with the sport of cycling, covering an array of disciplines from balance bikes to BMX. With a focus on inclusivity, the festival will foster a welcoming environment where cyclists of all backgrounds can come together to share their passion for two wheels,” explained Diego Carrete, Chief Wellness Officer at First Abu Dhabi Bank.

“While inspired by cycling, the FAB Cycling Festival goes beyond the sport. It’s a catalyst for nurturing a culture of wellness and inclusivity in our community,” he added. “We are proud to add the FAB Cycling Festival to our ever-expanding schedule of wellness initiatives and invite everyone to join us for a weekend of fun, fitness, and camaraderie as we pedal our way to a healthier, happier Abu Dhabi!”

The FAB Cycling Festival will take place from 2.00pm to 8.00pm on Friday, April 26, and from 8.00am to 8.00pm on Saturday, April 27, and Sunday, April 28. The event is free to enter for all. Registration is required to take part in certain events.
