Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship Winners to Receive  800 Thousand USD in Cash Prizes

The world’s top athletes will return to Abu Dhabi for the 13th ADWPJJC, the largest event on the global jiu-jitsu calendar, from 14-19 November at the Jiu-Jitsu Arena

The registration rate reached 90% in the various categories of the championship 


Abu Dhabi, UAE - 28 October 2021:  An incredible 800-thousand-dollar worth of cash prizes are at stake for the winners of the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship (ADWPJJC), the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation (UAEJJF), the governing body for the sport in the country, has announced. 


The six-day martial arts showcase will bring more than 4,000 athletes from over 90 countries together in youth, adults and masters’ categories in different belts divisions. Under the adult category, the brown belt winners will win cash prizes of $6,000, $3,000, and $1,500 for the first three positions while the black belt winners will get $10,000, $ 5,000, and $3,000 for the same. 


For the Male Master 1 category, under which only black belter holders aged above 30 are allowed to participate, the prize money is divided between $ 6,000, $ 3,000.00, and $ 1,500 for the first three winners. The fighters competing under the female adult category will be taking to their mats aiming for $6,000, $3,000, and $ 1,500 cash prizes fixed for the first three ranks.


The registration for the ADWPJJC is skyrocketing with 90 percent in all categories completed so far. This increase in the registration shows the fast-growing enthusiasm for the sports in the region and reassures the championship’s undisputed position on the global jiu-jitsu calendar. 


HE Mohammed Salem Al Dhaheri, Vice President of UAEJJF, said: “The UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation has fixed Dh 3 million in prize money for the Abu Dhabi World Professional Jiu-Jitsu Championship. This shows our commitment to ensure that our jiu-jitsu talents are rewarded in the right way they deserve. We are duty-bound to do everything within our limits to develop the sporting skills of our youth and our community.
