• Sixteen athletes who are passionate about gaming, attended Saturday’s semi-finals at the Etihad Arena. • BLAST has partnered with AD Gaming to host the season-ending tournament in Abu Dhabi Abu Dhabi, 18th December 2022: More than 15 UAE Special Olympics athletes who are passionate about gaming had a day to remember as they experienced their first global esports tournament at the BLAST Premier World Final in Abu Dhabi. As well as watching the semi-finals at the Etihad Arena, the People of Determination athletes and coaches were treated to an exclusive behind-the-scenes tour, organised by BLAST, as they got a first-hand look of the main stage and an insight into how BLAST delivers world-class esports entertainment experiences. The athletes also got the chance to see professional gamers from across the region’s leading esports clubs including Nasr Esports and Team Falcons. The athletes also visited the BLAST Gaming Zone who tested their gaming skills on a variety of games including FIFA. The Special Olympics UAE is one of many organisations that are realising the enormous potential of gaming it has including education and inclusion following the rapid emergence of gaming ang esports in the Middle East. BLAST has partnered with AD Gaming, a pioneering gaming and esports initiative to bring its season-ending BLAST Premier World Final to the UAE capital for the first time as part of a three-year partnership. The tournament has attracted eight of the world’s biggest esports organisations as they battle for glory and a share of the prize pool of USD $1 million.
