The Etihad journey starts at the front door
  • From check-in at home to a personal host through the terminal and a chauffeur to the aircraft, Etihad's ground services look after guests long before they board, designed to take the worry out of travel for guests flying from Abu Dhabi

Abu Dhabi, UAE - Etihad Airways is encouraging guests flying from Abu Dhabi to make full use of the services the airline offers, built around the flight itself. Guests can check in from home before they leave for Zayed International Airport, be met and walked through the terminal, wait in a lounge, and be driven to the aircraft, making the journey to the aircraft as seamless and easy as possible.

Home check-in

In cooperation with Morafiq, a check-in agent comes to the home or hotel, checks in every traveller, prints boarding passes and bag tags, and takes the luggage ahead. Guests leave for the airport with their hands free and their minds at ease. It is a gentle way to begin travelling and set the tone for the journey to come.

The service can be booked from 24 hours up to five hours before departure, with agents on call at any time of day, through the app, by phone, on WhatsApp, or through Etihad Concierge for guests in premium cabins. It starts at AED 185 for up to two bags and runs to ten, with extra bags from AED 35 each, and it is complimentary for guests in The Residence and First Deluxe. Etihad Guest members can choose it as a Custom Benefit.

City check-in

Guests who prefer to drop their bags on the way can use Morafiq's Remote Check-in at City Terminal locations across Abu Dhabi including Cruise Terminal 1, Mussafah, Madinat Zayed, and Lulu Hypermarket in Al Ain, allowing guests to check in and drop their bags up to 24 hours before departure, so nothing is left to sort out at the airport.

Dedicated check-in areas at Zayed International Airport

Business guests enjoy priority facilities and a streamlined route through immigration. Guests travelling in The Residence and First have exclusive check-in areas and dedicated immigration services, each designed around comfort rather than pace.

Priority Access

For guests seeking a smooth start to their trip, Priority Access includes dedicated check-in, priority boarding and expedited baggage delivery on arrival. Available to purchase online up to 90 minutes before departure, or using Etihad Guest Miles. Complimentary for guests travelling in Business, First and The Residence, and also available for purchase by guests travelling in Economy.

Meet & Assist

A personal host meets guests at Abu Dhabi departures, guides them through priority lanes, and stays with them across the terminal; a reassuring presence for a first-time flyer, a family with young children, or anyone travelling somewhere new. In Abu Dhabi, Meet & Assist VIP hosts guests in the private VIP Terminal with a dedicated check-in counter, porter service, a lounge, and a car to the aircraft; Meet & Assist Plus adds lounge access at over 100 airports across Etihad's network. Meet & Assist is included for First Deluxe guests.

Etihad Global Chauffeur Service

Guests travelling in premium cabins are looked after door to door, with Etihad Chauffeur available on a complimentary basis between Zayed International Airport and anywhere in the UAE, as well as in the majority of destinations across Etihad’s global network. Etihad Guest members can also select the service as a Custom Benefit.

Landing home in Abu Dhabi

As part of Etihad’s commitment to delivering a seamless travel experience, guests arriving in Abu Dhabi can take advantage of the airline’s innovative Land & Leave service, powered by Morafiq. The service enables travellers to head home the moment they land, while their bags are collected from the belt and delivered directly to their door within three hours. Complimentary for guests travelling in The Residence and First, the service is also available to all other guests from AED 125, including the collection and delivery of up to two bags.

Captain Majed Al Marzouqi, Chief Operations and Guest Officer, Etihad Airways, said: “A calm start makes for a better journey. Whether a guest checks in from home, is met at the door of the terminal or waits in a lounge, the aim is the same, to give guests back the time and peace of mind that travel can otherwise take away.”
